Dear friends from all over the world
You have already seen our lovely building constructed originally in 1888. The present shape goes back to 1994 when we received permission from the local authorities for a considerable extension.
We would now like to show you the 'soul' of Haus Salem. No doubt, the most successful way of doing this will be by reading the impressions our guests and friends wrote down in 1991 - when Haus Salem was threatened with closure. You may also turn, of course, to all the pictures.
In addition come to rest by being our guest for three days (or more). Rasttage (literally translated: Days-at-Rest) is what we call this opportunity for taking a rest before the next stretch-of-road in your life starts.
Haus Salem offers you the chance of meeting people - members of self-help and sensitivity groups e.g. members of families caring for handicapped persons, or people suffering continuously or even permanently from pain. Other groups consist of persons whose relatives or friends have died recently and/or who feel the impact of loneliness. And there are others who just want 'an away' break.
We also offer our Haus Salem to groups able to organise meetings of their own with programs matching our aims.
In our short report you will find some information about House Salem's latest development. This gives the chance to introduce the Friends of Salem (Verein der Freunde und Förderer von Haus Salem e.V.) established in 1989.
You now have a glimpse of the 'soul' of our house, at least, using the Internet. Would you like to know more? Please contact us. You will be welcome We are very much looking forward to hearing from you and to meeting you here!
